Conditions We Treat

An abdominal aortic aneurysm is detected in 200,000 Americans per year (AAA). Aortic aneurysm rupture is the 15th largest cause of death in the United States, and the 10th major cause of death in men over the age of 55.

An Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) is a weakening, bulging section of your abdominal aorta, which delivers blood to your lower half of your body. Screening for and detecting this aneurysm can help to prevent its growth, obstruction, and rupture. AAAs do not always cause issues, but a ruptured aneurysm can be fatal. Aortic aneurysm screening can save your life.

AAAs are more prevalent in men and smokers between the ages of 65 and 75. There are usually no symptoms, but it can occasionally produce pain in the belly, back, and/or legs due to pressure from disrupted blood flow.

Broken heart syndrome is a heart disorder that is frequently brought on by a stressful event, such as the unexpected death of a loved one. If you have broken heart syndrome, you may feel acute chest pains or believe you are experiencing a heart attack. The heart’s reaction to a surge of stress hormones creates a transient disturbance in one part of the heart’s normal pumping function. The rest of the heart continues to operate normally or contracts more violently. Broken heart syndrome is curable, and the illness normally resolves on its own in a matter of days or weeks.
Carotid Artery Stenosis (or Carotid Artery Disease) is a disorder of the carotid artery which causes narrowing of the blood vessels in the neck that carry blood from the heart to the brain.
Coronary artery disease is the narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries caused by atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis (sometimes called “hardening” or “clogging” of the arteries) is the buildup of cholesterol and fatty deposits (called plaque) on the inner walls of the arteries that restricts blood flow to the heart.
Deep vein thrombosis (also known as DVT, thromboembolism, or venous thrombosis) is a potentially fatal medical condition that develops when a blood clot becomes trapped in one of the body’s deep veins. Clots normally form in the lower body – either the lower legs, thighs, or pelvis – but they can also form in the deep veins of the arms, abdomen, or brain.

1 in 20 Americans over the age of 50 has Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD).

Peripheral arterial disease occurs when fatty plaque accumulates in the arteries and veins of the legs, restricting blood flow. PAD, like congested arteries in the heart, increases the chance of having a heart attack or stroke.

PAD resembles coronary artery disease (CAD). Both are caused by atherosclerosis, which narrows arteries and prevents appropriate blood flow to vital organs.
